Shop Local, Save the Planet

We're all aflutter about Earth Day coming up next week, and the part farmers markets play in community sustainability!

We're teaming up with the La Plata High School's Key Club Environmental Committee to hold our first-ever Green Fair, April 18, 9AM - 12PM. Stop by and talk to like-minded community organizations like the Charles County Government/Environmental, the Charles County Master Gardeners, and the Ujamaa Cooperative Farming Alliance . If you're considering making the switch to an EV, we'll have some EV owners on hand to help you strategize that move, and SMECO will be there to talk advantages and logistics.

Even better news: you're already engaged in community by supporting the vendors at our market! Dollars invested in small businesses supports the local economy, and buying locally grown and produced agricultural products strengthens our community-based food system. Plus you get nutrient-dense food with a smaller carbon footprint...so many ways to win here!

Grab your reusable tote of choice and come find us behind the Charles County courthouse complex (209 Washington Ave., La Plata) - we'll be there 9AM - 2PM.
