Dear Market Community,
By now you're probably tired of hearing how committed we are to NOT becoming a COVID-19 hotspot, and the measures we take to make sure that the Market doesn't turn up on anyone's contact tracing report. (We'll just leave some photos below as reminders.)
With just three weekends left in the market season -- and after Governor Hogan's recent re-tightening of certain restrictions -- we will not be relaxing our standards, even though those particular restrictions didn't apply to us. In fact, with the recent spike in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations in Charles County, everyone involved with the Market is reviewing their processes to make sure we're doing everything we can to prevent further spread and keep our Market open as long as possible.
You can help us do that by continuing to wear your face covering in the Market, maintaining your social distance, and being our extra eyes. If you see unsafe practices, please let the nearest vendor or staff member know. And if a vendor or staff member approaches you to address a safety issue, please try not to take it personally. We just want to keep the Market and all our small businesses...well, in business. Really, that applies to all your favorite small businesses, whether that's at our Market, or in downtown La Plata, or wherever you go -- everyone's doing what they have to in order to keep the lights on.
You have our continued thanks for being the amazingly supportive community that you are, and we look forward to seeing you at the Market.
Best regards Kelly Phipps Market Manager
